In a peaceful village, there lived two brothers, Dev and Mohan. They inherited a piece of land from their father. Their father’s last words were, “Children, remember, you reap what you sow. Work hard, be honest, and life will reward you.”
Dev took these words seriously. Every morning, he woke up early, ploughed his field, planted good seeds, and watered them carefully. He was patient and consistent, even when the sun was scorching or the rains delayed.
Mohan, on the other hand, was lazy. Instead of working in the field, he spent his days playing cards and gossiping in the market. He scattered a few seeds carelessly, believing luck would bring him a harvest without effort.
Months passed. When the harvest season arrived, Dev’s fields stood tall with golden crops swaying in the wind. His hard work had borne fruit, and his barn was filled with grain. Mohan’s land, however, was barren with only a few unhealthy plants. Hungry and desperate, Mohan came to Dev, saying, “Brother, why does fortune always smile on you and not me?”
Dev replied calmly, “It is not fortune, Mohan. It is the result of choices. I sowed good seeds with care, and they grew into abundance. You neglected your field, and it gave you nothing. Remember, we reap what we sow.”
